⭑Presenter Bio Wade Black⭑

Wade was born in Nevada and was raised on the 1.25 million-acre Winecup Gamble Ranch, where they ran 10,000 head of mother cows. From a very young age, he was roping, moving cows, and working with the cowboys on the ranch managed by his father, Martin Black. At age 10, his family moved to Idaho, where they bred, raised, and trained horses for the public. Wade helped his dad start colts and competed in rodeo during high school, becoming both a state and national high school rodeo contender.
Wade earned a rodeo scholarship in saddle bronc riding at Montana State University, where he also competed in team roping. He went on to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) and earned a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science and a Master of Science in Equine Nutrition and Colt Starting. He also taught colt-starting classes at MSU for two years. Wade has trained racehorses in Kentucky, cutting horses in Texas, and worked at various cow camps in Idaho and Oregon. For the past 20 years, he and his wife have managed their own horse training business, with their children also helping with the business and learning the ropes of horsemanship.
In addition to his college rodeo career, Wade has qualified for several professional circuit finals and, in 2019, became the Road to the Horse Wild Card Champion. In 2021, he won the Road to the Horse World Championship of Colt Starting. Wade is also a pick-up man at rodeos, furthering his involvement in the sport. His children are actively involved in rodeoing as well, continuing the family tradition of rodeo and horsemanship. Horsemanship runs deep in Wade’s bloodline. He comes from a long line of renowned horsemen, including his father, Martin Black; his grandfather, Ray Hunt; and his uncle, Bill Van Norman.
In 2020, Wade and his wife Amaia founded a non-profit organization called Training Quality Assurance. The organization focuses on working with experts in the equine and ranching industries to establish guidelines, standards, and industry certifications.
Wade has been teaching at Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) for over 15 years and currently directs the Equine Program at TVCC in Ontario, Oregon. He oversees three degrees: an Equine Science Degree, an Equine Business Degree, and a Horse Training Degree, in addition to several pathway and industry certifications. [Link]

Because Of The Horse...
I was blessed to be raised in a family business where we grew up learning the core beliefs and values that America was founded on. I look forward to passing on these beliefs and values through our youth development program and to the next generation of horse trainers seeking a career in the equine, ranching and rodeo industries.
