Presenter Bio Mark Langley

Mark Langley offers highly experienced insights into the forefront of Emotive Training: balancing both a horse's MIND and its BODY. His holistic, highly practical training creates emotional shifts in the way a horse thinks and feels: helping horses to be more receptive to training; to us; to carry less worry and less brace; and regain their own self-esteem.

His training is mindful of a horse's emotional state; yet focused on expanding its ability to learn and self-regulate. His fresh and unique expertise at understanding how to help all horses cope and learn, has helped 1000s of horses and people all over the world.

Mark's techniques promote emotional stability, confidence, flow, balance, softness, desire, attentiveness, and search; as well as helping owners become better teachers. Helping people to understand the effects of training, he seeks to passionately create a better place for horses. His insights are helping to reshape horse training as we know it. His training helps to overcome anything from anxiety to aggression; rushing to wrong canter transitions; trail spookiness to trailer loading problems or that will set any young horse up to be a positive partner for life.

Because Of The Horse...

and what I now know they have been through or are going through, I have a stronger empathy towards them. I can help them more because I understand them better, pinpoint their reasons for anxiety and be more accurate in my ability to help them through it. This has made me a better person as well.

DAY 1

Improving Softness: Practical Tips

This is the first lesson that I had with this mare, and so it is partly an assessment, but also a lesson. Watch to learn what I am looking for in horses and how to: help a horse process; be more adjustable; carry less brace; reduce stiffness; how I guide through feel; improve trust; why search is so important; avoid paranoid horses; and increase proprioception. All of this makes for a less robotic, safer, more naturally balanced (mentally as well as physically) happier horse, which is what I think is really important in horse training.

 Help With Girthiness

Create relaxation for you and your horse with 3 simple pre-ride exercises (and leave the overthinking behind).

DAY 2

Improving Softness: Rein Work

Techniques under saddle for using the reins to help reduce the one problem that most horses deal with: Anxiety. Plus, how to engage a horse’s thoughts through the reins; following a feel; and the benefits of a one-rein-start.

Help With Picking Up Feet
