⭑Presenter Bio Angela Hall⭑
I’m Angela Hall, Director of the Equine Massage Academy and author of: Is My Horse in Pain? published in 2024 in the UK, USA and Canada. I live in Durham, England, though my story begins in California, where my lifelong connection with horses started at the age of two. Growing up in England, I explored many interests, yet I was always drawn back to the magnificent world of horses, dreaming of having my own one day—something I achieved later in life.
As an adult, I spent years climbing the corporate ladder, working across cities like London, Amsterdam, and Rome. Yet despite my success, something always felt missing. That changed during a visit to a local stable, where the sight of horses brought me a sense of peace and clarity. From that moment on, I knew I needed to pursue a path that would bring me closer to these incredible animals.
Because Of The Horse...
I have learned the true meaning of love, patience, and trust. These incredible animals teach us to listen, observe, and connect in ways that transcend words. Their strength and grace, yet vulnerability, can forge a profound bond with humans, but we need to learn to listen to them to become better, more compassionate carers. We owe them our commitment to their well-being and respect, and I strive to achieve this as an educator.
Angela Hall’s 2025 Presentations
DAY 1
★Maximizing Your Horse’s Health and Wellbeing Through Body-Focused Care
Angela Hall highlights common welfare and performance issues in horses, often preventable with the right body-focused care. She shows you how to expertly “palpate a horse” to identify muscle or bone concerns and also how to correctly “take a horse’s vital signs” to detect early health changes. Angela covers “equine musculoskeletal health,” where she discusses muscular and skeletal health and introduces the pain scale, reading facial expressions, and also some basic equine massage techniques for tension relief. This presentation gives you practical tools to enhance your horse’s wellbeing.
DAY 2
★ Horse Health Inside Out (Microbiome to Zoopharmacognosy)
Angela is a strong advocate for proper nutrition and natural horse health. In this presentation, she highlights the function of the microbiome, the importance of replicating a horse’s natural diet as in the wild, and the practice of zoopharmacognosy—also known as self-selection or self-medication. Drawing on her expertise as a Zoopharmacognosist and Master in Herbology, Angela brings extensive experience working with horses facing diverse digestive, bone, and health challenges caused by improper feeding. This presentation includes a full length Zoopharmacognosy session with a pony diagnosed with hock arthritis.
★Equine Hands-On Therapies for Body & Mind You Can Do at Home
In this enriching presentation, Angela shares some practical hands-on techniques you can use with your horses at home. By incorporating these therapies, you can make a meaningful difference in your horse’s physical and mental well-being.
★Maximizing Your Horse’s Wellbeing and Performance Through Correct Supportive Exercise
Many horses suffer injuries due to incorrect training techniques. Angela brings valuable insights from her proven training programs, designed to ensure that each horse is placed in the appropriate category for its training stage. This begins with starting the horse, prehabilitation or pre-training, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation (for horses recovering from injury), and recurring injury prevention.
